Another Gazipur factory fire victim dies

Death toll rose to seven after another burn victim of Gazipur factory fire died yesterday morning at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The deceased Kamal Hossain, 49, -- supervisor of the factory of smart Metal and Chemicals Ltd at Pubail -- was undergoing treatment with 95 percent burn injuries, DMCH sources said.

On Monday, Sub-Inspector Golam Saroar filed a case with Joydebpur Police Station accusing factory owner Eman Uddin, 47, manager Shaheen, 35, and landowner Based Bepary, 65.

The case was filed for building the factory illegally and not keeping safety measures for the workers.

Six people were killed earlier in the fire which occurred when a boiler exploded in the factory on Saturday. A little while after it two more boilers exploded.
