BYLC Youth Leadership Bootcamp concludes
The graduation ceremony of the 2015 Youth Leadership Bootcamp, a national residential leadership development programme of Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC), was held at Grand Sultan Hotel in Sreemangal, Sylhet, said a press release yesterday.
The 100 participants selected from over 1,000 applicants from across the country spent the last four days learning about leadership, teamwork and team building, career development, and problem solving.
Akhter Matin Chaudhury, chairperson of BYLC, said, "Leadership involves sacrifice. You will become an effective leader only when you are able to put the collective interest ahead of your personal interests."
Three participants from English, Bangla and madrasa medium of education spoke about how the bootcamp inspired them to dream big and take concrete actions to positively impact the world around them.
The bootcamp was designed with discussions and visits to leading public, private and non-profit organisations to prepare them for their careers. They also met with like-minded peers and professionals from different fields.
Ejaj Ahmad, president of BYLC, and scientist Dr Abed Chaudhury also spoke.
The gold sponsors of the Bootcamp were Chevron and the US Embassy in Dhaka, the silver sponsors were Prothom Alo and Paragon Group, and the industry partners were Brac, Summit Group and the Mouvibazar district commissioner's office.
