Close shops by 8pm: Taposh

Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today urged businesses and shop owners under Dhaka South City Corporation to bring down their shutters by 8pm every day from now on -- to curb the transmission of coronavirus.

He said this while talking to journalists during his visit to Bangladesh Boys Club field near the Gopibagh area, as part of his regular weekly inspection, according to a press release issued in this regard.

"As coronavirus infections are on the rise again, please close your shops and business establishments within 8pm," he requested people through journalists, reads the release.

"We have issued a public notice. Closing establishments within 8pm will cut back the infection rate," the release further quoted the DSCC mayor as saying.
