Daily Star, its staff donate for Nepal quake victims
The Daily Star and its employees yesterday donated relief materials for the earthquake victims in Nepal.
The relief goods including biscuits, oral saline, emergency medicines, toilet soaps, antiseptic liquid and tooth paste were handed over to WaterAid Bangladesh, a UK based NGO, which is locally mobilising relief materials from organisations and individuals.
Bangladesh Biman Airlines will transport the materials to Kathmandu for free and the Bangladesh embassy in Nepal will distribute those among the victims.
On April 25, the devastating earthquake left around 7,500 people dead, and 8.1 million people are in dire need of assistance.
