Drive to curb waterlogging ongoing
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sayeed Khokon yesterday said they have already cleaned 70 percent of the deep drains of DSCC areas and will finish the rest by April, which will reduce the waterlogging problem in the upcoming rainy season.
Addressing a cleaning campaign at the foreign ministry premises, Khokon said that they also have taken initiatives to reduce the waterlogging problem in Shantinagar.
Khokon said they have started repairing 300 roads simultaneously in different parts of DSCC areas and added that to bring transparency in the tender process, they have introduced e-tendering system.
DSCC and the foreign ministry jointly organised the event as part of DSCC's on going awareness campaign on cleaning activities, where Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and DSCC mayor took part in token cleaning activities.
Foreign minister said everyone has a role to make the city beautiful and all have to come forward to clean their homes, offices, business places and localities.
