DU student killed in bus accident in Banani

A Dhaka University student was killed when a passenger bus ran him over in Banani this evening.

The victim was identified as Faisal Ahmed, 28, a student of an evening MBA programme at DU, and a resident of Pirerbagh in Mirpur, police said. Faisal was the son of Abul Hossain of Pirojpur's Kaukhali upazila.

The incident took place near Setu Bhaban in Banani around 7:45pm when the bus hit Faisal's motorcycle and ran him over, leaving him critically injured, said Abdul Kaiyum, a sub-inspector of Banani Police Station.

He was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, Kaiyum added.
