GP to expand green initiatives
Grameenphone, country's largest mobile phone operator, will bring 30 percent of its base stations under solar solution by the next year as part of the expansion of their green initiatives.
At a meeting with journalists at a hotel in Chittagong city, Sanjoy Das Gupta, general manager, regional operation and maintenance of Grameenphone, yesterday further said Grameenphone is continuously working for reducing carbon intensity, re-using and recycling battery, and e-waste management.
Grameenphone received Green Mobile Award at GSMA Global Mobile World Congress in 2014, Syed Talat Kamal, head of external communication of Grameenphone, said.
