Houses, shops, restaurant gutted in Ctg

Fire gutted seven tin-roofed houses and five shops in Postarpar area of Chittagong city yesterday.
The fire, originated from the electric short circuit at a house around 5:15am soon spread to the adjacent houses and shops, said Fire Service officials.
Fire-fighters extinguished the fire around 6:40am and estimated the damage at Tk 5 lakh.
Meanwhile, in Nasirabad area fire, originated in the same way at a restaurant on the 6th floor of a nine-storey building, gutted valuables worth Tk 6.50 lakh.
