Journalist Saiful Islam passes away

Saiful Islam Talukder, joint-secretary general of a faction of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and special correspondent of the Daily Amader Samay, died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in the capital on Saturday night. He was 56, reports BSS. Saiful, also former vice president of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), left behind his wife, three daughters and a son.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death of Saiful, reports UNB.

Our Chandpur correspondent adds, he was buried at his family graveyard there yesterday evening.
