Newborn’s body found in Old Dhaka dustbin

The body of a male newborn was recovered from a dustbin in Old Dhaka's Kaltabazar area this evening.

A waste picker found the body wrapped in a blue polythene bag around 8:30pm in a dustbin beside Bismillah Hotel, Kazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge of Sutrapur Police Station, said quoting witnesses.

On information, police went to the spot and recovered the body, the OC said.

Police are investigating the incident and will take necessary legal steps in this regard, he added.
