'Police identify more suspects'

Police have identified six to seven more suspects in connection with the recent ATM card scam, claimed Dhaka Metropolitan Police yesterday.

Police are collecting information about the foreign suspects who had left Bangladesh soon after the first case was filed over the scam, Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam of DMP told journalists at its media centre.

"We are seeking to confirm their whereabouts through Interpol and high commissions of the countries concerned," he added.

Four persons, including Piotr Szczepan Mazurek, a German national and suspect mastermind of the scam, were remanded. He confessed to the crime before a court on Thursday.
