Road accidents kill seven including three of family

Seven people, including three of a family, were killed in road accidents in four districts yesterday.

In Kurigram, a man and his two sons were killed when a bus hit their motorcycle on Kurigram-Bhurungamari road in Jamtala area of Nageswari upazila.

The deceased were Jahangir Alam, 45, of Nilurkhamar village and his sons Zim Islam, 10, and Millat Hossain, 8. Jahangir was taking his sons to their school on the motorcycle.

In the same upazila, Nurjahan Begam, 55, of Ratanpur village was killed when a motorcycle hit her in Beparihat area while she was standing beside the road.

Police arrested the motorcyclist Abdul Malek of Gagla Egaromatha village.   

In the capital, Sapto Kumar Ghosh, 35, a ticket seller of a transport service was run over by a truck while he was crossing the road at Gabtoli Bus terminal. Police arrested the truck helper Sujan of Jessore.

In Dinajpur, Pobon Kumar Kundu, 34, of Puratan Bazar was killed when a truck hit his motorcycle at Begumbazar on Hili-Birampur highway in Birampur upazila.

In Chapainawabganj, Mohammad Lalbar, 30, of Par Ghorapakhia village was killed when a truck hit his bicycle on Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid land port highway in Ranihati area of Shibganj upazila.
