Road crashes kill 4

Four people were killed in road accidents across three districts in the last two days, report our correspondents and agencies.

In Chattogram, Abdul Quader Kayser, UP member of Shovondandi, was killed in a road accident in Bailtali area on Patiya bypass road yesterday, when a speeding bus hit his motorbike around 3pm, said police. 

Agitated locals blocked the road for an hour after the incident.

In Dinajpur, seven-year-old Mohna Begum was killed after a speeding motorcycle hit her in Khansama upazila yesterday.

Police said Mohna was on her way to class when the motorcycle hit her. She succumbed to the injuries an hour later.

In Madaripur, a man was killed and four were injured in a road accident at Khoajpur on Madaripur-Shariatpur highway yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Hai Munshi (55), a local leader of Workers’ Party.

The accident occurred when a truck collided head-on with an easy-bike, leaving all passengers injured. The wounded were rushed to Madaripur Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Hai dead.

In Bandarban, Rajon (27) was killed and two were injured when a local-made vehicle overturned on Fashiakhali Road in Lama upazila on Saturday afternoon, police said.
