Road crashes kill 5, injure 3

Five people were killed and three others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday.

Our Pabna correspondent reports, Kamal Hossain, 36, of Khulna died and three people were injured as a truck and a car collided head-on on Dhaka-Bogra highway in Dadpur area of Sirajganj.

Our Benapole correspondent reports, Sajjad Hossain 13, son of Ekram Mollah of Sotoachra village died when a covered-van hit him while he was crossing the road in the Port Terminal area.

Our Gazipur correspondent reports, Sanwar Hossain Rana, 30, of Tangail died when a bus hit him on Dhaka-Kaliakoir road in Chandra area under Kaliakoir upazila.

Meanwhile, an unidentified rickshaw puller died as a bus hit him in Chandona Chowrasta area in Gazipur city.

Our Mymensingh correspondent adds Abdul Kader, 50, of Jamirdia Akandapara died when a covered-van ran him over while he was crossing Jamirdia-Sreepur road in Jamirdia area of Bhaluka upazila.
