Samson H Chy's anniversary of death today

Today is the fourth death anniversary of Samson H Chowdhury, the founder of Square Group.

He died at the age of 86.

A prayer will be held in Astras farmhouse where he was buried, and a discussion on his life and works will be held on Pabna Press Club premises this evening.

He was chosen as the Best Entrepreneur of the Country for the year 2000-2001 by The Daily Star and DHL. The Bangladesh American Chamber of Commerce in 1998 honoured him as the Business Executive of the Year. He was the founder president of Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies, and vice-president of International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh. He also served as the chairman of Central Depository Bangladesh Ltd.  He founded an orphanage for poor Christian children in his village Ataikula in 1985.
