Sky Mini Marathon held in Barisal city
An eight-kilometre Sky Mini Marathon, organised by Everest Academy, A for Adventure, and Jugantor Swajan Samabesh, was held in Barisal city yesterday morning.
The Daily Star was one of the media partners of the event started from and ended at Nagar Bhaban.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Gazi Md Saifuzzaman inaugurated the competition participated by 400 competitors.
Ten people were selected for the final round of International Sky Marathon to be held in Bandarban on December 19 to promote tourism in Bangladesh.
Abu Bakar Siddik, an SSC examinee of Barisal AK Institution, stood first among the 10, said organisers.
Officials from the police administration, educational institutions and sports organisations, were present at the award giving ceremony in front of the bhaban.
Everest Academy chairman Musa Ibrahim, among others, addressed the programme.
Earlier on November 6, such a mini marathon was held in Sylhet. It will be held in Barguna today, Rangpur on November 20, Rajshahi on November 21, Khulna on November 22, Chittagong on November 27 and Mymensingh on November 28.
