2 Myanmar nationals held with yaba in Cox’s Bazar
Two Myanmar nationals were detained with over one lakh yaba tablets in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar last night.
Hailing from Mangdu in Myanmar, Md Ayat, 20, and Md Mamunul, 25, were detained by paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
A patrol team of BGB men acting on a tip-off challenged two suspects and caught them with three bags containing 1,10,000 yaba tablets around 11:30pm, Lt Col SM Ariful Islam, commanding officer of BGB battalion-2 in Teknaf, told our Cox's Bazar correspondent.
The BGB men handed the duo to local police.
Later police showed them arrested in two cases – one filed for intrusion and another under the drug act, said Md Mainuddin Khan, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station.
