2 housewives murdered

Two housewives were murdered allegedly by their husbands in Kalai upazila of Joypurhat and Sadar upazila of Manikganj districts yesterday and the day before.

Our Dinajpur correspondent reported that a housewife was killed allegedly by her husband over family feud at Dhapkathali village in Kalai upazila early yesterday.

The deceased is Rowshan Ara, 20, wife of Abdul Karim.

Police said Karim married Rowshan, daughter of late Abdur Rahman of Khetlal upazila of the district, a year ago. After having dinner on Tuesday night, they engaged in an altercation over a trivial matter at around 2:00am. At one stage, Karim strangled his wife to death. 

On information, police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it hospital morgue for autopsy. They also arrested Karim. 

In Manikganj, a housewife was killed allegedly by her husband in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night, reports our correspondent.

The deceased is Makhon Begum, 50, wife of Mofiz Uddin of Paschim Dashora village in the upazila. 

Being informed, police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Aminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
