Housewife killed over dowry

A housewife was killed allegedly by her husband over dowry at Kushkhali village in Sadar upazila on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Reshma Khatun, 26, wife of Azizul Islam of the area.

Victim's father Shafiqul Islam said Azizul used to torture Reshma for dowry since their marriage seven years back.

Azizul stabbed Reshma indiscriminately, leaving her dead on the spot following an altercation over the issue on Saturday noon.

Police arrested Azizul in this connection, said Emdad Hossain Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
