Man stabbed dead in Narayanganj

A man has been stabbed to death in Narayanganj Sadar upazila.

Sheikh Monir Hossain, 35, son of Muslish Sheikh of Rasulpur area, was the president of Awami Janata League, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo quoting relatives.

Last night, Monir along with his wife Parvin and her elder sister Rekha was returning to his house when miscreants waylaid them and stabbed Monir, the daily quoted Md Sharfuddin, additional superintendent of district police.

The two women also sustained stab injuries, the ASP said.

The three were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where Monir succumbed to his injuries this morning.

The body was kept at DMCH morgue and preparations were underway to file a case in this connection, Sharfuddin added.
