A seven-year-old boy was sexually abused allegedly by one of his neighbouring boys in Ambagan area of the district town on Wednesday.

The boy, also a nursery student at a local school, is now undergoing treatment at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH).

Victim's mother Sobita Begum, a resident of Nishindha Mondalpara village, said Mashkurur Rahman Tarek, son of Toyez Uddin, also a Class IX student at local school, lured the boy to a nearby mango orchard by offering sweetmeats in the afternoon.

Tareq later sexually abused the boy by tightening his hands and legs and fled the scene, she said.

Locals rescued the boy from the orchard in a critical condition and admitted him to the hospital around 8:00pm the same night.

Inspector (inquiry) Aslam Ali of Sadar Police Station said he had visited the victim at the hospital and they would take action after filing of the case.
