Pabna Jubo League man hacked to death

A union-level leader of Jubo League, the youth front of ruling Awami League, was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Atgharia upazila of Pabna this morning.

The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 30, son of Juran Sardar of Satgacha village of Ekdanta union in the upazila.

Rafiul used to run a fertiliser shop at Satgacha village market, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting Ismail Sardar, chairman of Ekdanta UP.

He was on his way to the shop around 8:00am when miscreants waylaid and hacked him indiscriminately, the chairman said.

Rafiul was pronounced dead when he was rushed to Pabna Sadar Hospital, Sardar added.

Confirming the incident, Faruk Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Atgharia Police Station, said police were looking into the matter.
