Physically challenged girl gang-raped

A physically challenged girl was gang-rapped at Baganpara village in Sadar upazila of Chuadanga district on Thursday.

Police said one Idu Hossain, 44, along with his accomplice Khokon Ali, 40, of the village picked up the girl when her mother was performing Tarabih prayers at their home around 9:00pm.

They took the girl to a nearby field and raped her, alleged Tozammel Hossain, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station.

Medical test of the girl was carried out on Friday night and the evidence of rape was found there, the OC said, adding that the victim is now undergoing treatment at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.

The mother of the girl filed a case, accusing Idu and Khokon.

The accused went into hiding soon after the incident, said police.
