Probashi Bandhu call centre for expats inaugurated

The Probashi Bandhu call centre that will facilitate communication with friends and family of around 25 lakh Bangladeshi migrant workers in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Jordan was inaugurated this morning.

The migrant workers in the countries will now be able to talk with their family and friends directly by using Probashi Bandhu call centre, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam said after inaugurating the centre at Probashi Kalyan Bhaban at 9:30am.

The workers can even complain about any lapse in government services, the minister adding that they will just have to dial 09654333333.

The complaints will be forwarded to the concerned departments for due action, the minister said.  

The migrant workers will get the facilities to discuss their problems for passport, legal issues, sending back dead bodies, compensations, and financial help for illness etc via the call centre.

The ministry will introduce the same facilities for the Bangladeshi migrants working in other countries gradually.
