SC clears way for wealth info of Destiny officials
The Supreme Court today cleared the way for the Anti-Corruption Commission to collect wealth statement from Destiny Group Managing Director Rafiqul Amin and its Multi-purpose Operative Society Limited Chairman Mohammad Hossain.
The apex court stayed till August 18 the High Court order that directed ACC not to take any step against Rafiqul and Hossain based on the notice seeking their wealth statement.
A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order following two separate pleas filed by the ACC seeking stay on the High Court order.
The apex court bench also extended till August 18 its order that stayed the bail of Rafiqul and Hossain in two money laundering cases.
The High Court on August 2 directed the ACC not to take any step against the Destiny officials on the basis of its notice seeking their wealth statement.
Earlier on July 31, Supreme Court the HC order of bail till August 11 (today).
