Son hacks father dead for VGF rice

A youth hacked his father dead at Boaldar village under Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur yesterday, just for a share of the rice of Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF).

The deceased was Abbas Uddin, 50, of the village.

Locals said Abbas collected 10-kg of  VGF rice on Friday. His son Md Aladuddin, 25, demanded half of it. As Abbas refused, Allauddin hacked him.

Abbas was taken to Hakimpur Upazila Health Complex, but the doctors referred him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. He died there.
