Teenager arrested

Police yesterday detained a 16-year-old boy in connection with a case for raping a schoolgirl in Baksiganj upazila of the district.

The victim, a Class IX student and daughter of a farmer from Pashchim Beparipara village in the upazila, filed the case with Baksiganj Police Station accusing the boy on Wednesday night.

Police produced the arrestee before a court later in the afternoon that sent him to a juvenile correction centre in Gazipur.
