Actor Idhika Paul is set to take on another new role as she joins acclaimed Indian filmmaker Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming detective film, based on the fictional sleuth Kanaicharan, created by author Rajarshi Das Bhowmik.

According to reports by Anandabazar Patrika and other Indian media outlets, Srijit has read the entire Kanaicharan series before selecting “Kalapanir Disha” as the basis for the film. However, the director has not confirmed whether the adaptation will retain the story’s title.
