A special compilation edition of the popular magazine programme “Ityadi”, originally filmed in the mango orchards of Chapainawabganj, will be broadcast on Bangladesh Television (BTV) on Friday (July 3), following the 8:00pm Bangla news bulletin.

The episode was first recorded in 2016 at the Horticulture Centre in Chapainawabganj. Alongside the district's scenic mango orchards, it explores the region's history, cultural heritage, the ancient Varendra region, archaeological remains from the Bengal Sultanate, and the famed mangoes for which the district is known.

To coincide with the ongoing football season, the compilation also includes a selection of football-themed segments from previous editions of “Ityadi”, featuring reports and stories inspired by the FIFA World Cup.

The programme features two reports on Chapainawabganj and its renowned mango industry, an awareness segment on a young reptile enthusiast, an inspirational profile of Halim of Magura, who holds three Guinness World Records related to football, and a report on Kutubuddin Ahmed, a social worker from Phultala Upazila in Khulna.

The international segment takes viewers to Athens, highlighting the Greek capital's natural beauty, archaeological heritage and historic landmarks.

Also included is a song celebrating Chapainawabganj, written by Mohammad Rafiquzzaman and composed by Hanif Sanket, accompanied by a dance performance featuring nearly 100 local performers.

The episode also presents a satirical musical drama examining irregularities in public offices, featuring late actors Pran Roy and Joyraj.

Viewers will also see performances by Chapainawabganj's traditional Gambhira troupe, with folk artists Mahabubul Alam and Faizur Rahman Manik, alongside compilation versions of several popular “Ityadi” segments, including “Nana Nati”, “Mama Bhagne”, and the viewers' letters segment.
As with every episode, “Ityadi” has been written, directed and hosted by Hanif Sanket.
