Khairul Basar sustains injuries in accident during Thailand shoot
Actor Khairul Basar and cinematographer Mehedi Rony were injured in a scooter accident while returning from a hill after a shoot in Thailand today (Tuesday).
The accident took place at around 4:30pm Bangladesh time on Koh Lan island, where the team was shooting for a drama. Rony was riding the scooter when it reportedly lost control while they were coming down the hill.
The two were seriously injured in the accident. Members of the shooting team, who were nearby, rescued them and took them for medical treatment. They have since been taken to a hospital in Pattaya.
Speaking to Prothom Alo, Basar said, “We came to Thailand to shoot a drama. Everything was going smoothly. We had a scene to shoot at Koh Lan island. At one point, we shot on top of a hill. The shooting went well. But while coming down, our scooter suddenly lost control. We fell immediately.”
Basar sustained injuries to his chest and knees and is having difficulty walking. “I have pain in my chest and injuries to my knees. I am having difficulty walking. We have now come to Pattaya. We will receive treatment at a hospital here,” he said.
They had to cancel the shooting due to the accident. “Given my physical condition, it is not possible for me to continue shooting,” Basar said.
