Acclaimed filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient Adoor Gopalakrishnan will officially inaugurate the festival on May 4. The five-day event will continue through May 8 and feature nearly 175 films from more than 60 countries.

The festival has received support from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Ministry of Culture, and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.

“This is truly a major step forward and a celebration of creativity among creative people from around the world. I am confident that it will achieve great success, and I extend my best wishes for it.”

The “Minar-E-Dilli” honour is regarded as one of the festival’s most prestigious recognitions. Previous recipients include Sharmila Tagore, Subhash Ghai, Shatrughan Sinha, and Randhir Kapoor.
