Coinciding with International Father’s Day, filmmaker Shawana’s short film “The Road to My Father” has been released today on the Humbleverse YouTube channel.
Born and raised in Sweden with roots in Bangladesh, Shawana has steadily built a reputation for telling deeply personal stories that explore themes of memory, identity, relationships and belonging. Her latest work, “The Road to My Father”, has already garnered international recognition, earning selections and screenings at film festivals across Canada, the United States, Sweden, Russia, Italy and India.

Reflecting on the significance of the project, Shawana said in a press statement, “‘The Road to My Father’ is a journey that began long before the camera started rolling. Through this film, I wanted to revisit memories and ask questions I had carried for years. Releasing the film on Father’s Day makes the moment even more meaningful. I hope that after watching the film, some viewers will be reminded of their fathers, some may sit down to watch it with them, and others may find a part of themselves in the journey.”
