Viral photo of Manna and Vijay sparks debate among fans

A photo claiming to show Bangladeshi film icon Manna alongside Tamil superstar Vijay has recently gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion among fans.

The image, which many claim was taken around 20 years ago, shows Manna standing with Vijay, with the latter placing a hand on his shoulder. The photo has drawn strong emotional reactions, bringing together admirers of two major film industries.

However, shortly after it began circulating, questions were raised about its authenticity. Many believe the image is not real and may have been created using modern artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Some fans have suggested that the meeting could have taken place in Chennai. They note that several of Manna’s films underwent post-production work at studios such as Prasad Lab and AVM Studio in the early 2000s. During that time, Manna was reportedly in Chennai working on films like “Bastob”, “Minister”, and “Bir Soinik”. Vijay was also active in the Tamil industry during the same period, leading to speculation that the two actors may have met.

Manna’s wife, Shelly Manna, was unable to confirm the authenticity of the image. She told Bangla Tribune, “I was working at the time. It was a long time ago, so I do not clearly remember. He used to travel to India frequently for work and events. It is possible that he met Vijay, but I cannot confirm it.” Meanwhile, Manna’s son, Siam Illtemash, has claimed that the image was created using AI. 

The viral post has also prompted emotional responses from fans. One fan commented, “Manna was a hero of the common people. He always reflected real life in his films.” Another wrote, “Manna stayed away from politics, so his respect remains intact. If he had joined politics, there might have been more criticism than praise.”
Film insiders believe that the continued popularity of Manna reflects his deep connection with audiences. Throughout his career, he established himself as a representative of ordinary people on screen.

On the other hand, Vijay has grown into one of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema. He has also entered politics, becoming a major public figure in Tamil Nadu.

An analysis of their careers shows that both actors rose as icons of the common people in their respective industries. In the 1990s, Manna brought social realism and protest narratives to Bangladeshi cinema, while Vijay was beginning his rise in the Tamil film industry.

Many observers see the viral image as an emotional tribute from fans, bridging geographical boundaries and celebrating the legacy of two beloved stars.
