Asha Bhosle passes away at 92
Asha Bhosle, the legendary Indian playback singer, has been reported to have passed away at the age of 92. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday.
Family members confirmed the news in statements shared with media. Her son, Anand Bhosle, said, “She passed away today. Those who wish to pay their last respects can visit her residence tomorrow (Monday) at 11 am. The last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.”
Reports said she was admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. Her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, earlier mentioned that she had been undergoing treatment for a chest infection.
The last rites are expected to be held on Monday with full state honours, according to reports. The ceremony will take place at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital earlier this week. She had been receiving treatment there before death.
