Ashes releases long-awaited track ‘Feriwala’
After nearly ten years of anticipation, Bangladeshi band Ashes has released its new track “Feriwala”, the fourth song from its album “Bivrom”.
The song, written and composed by the band’s frontman Zunayed Evan, was released on Thursday night, accompanied by a music video filmed in Canada and at Kaptai Lake in Rangamati.
Evan said the track carries a long history, dating back over a decade. He first hinted at the song in 2016 by sharing a couple of lines on social media. A demo version was later released on YouTube in 2019, but the full version remained unreleased—fueling curiosity among fans.
Over the years, listeners continued to ask about the song, leaving hundreds of comments online expressing anticipation. “We didn’t realise it would take this long to release. The response from listeners over the years has been overwhelming,” Evan said.
With the official release of “Feriwala”, fans’ long wait has finally come to an end.
Ashes’ current lineup includes Zunayed Evan (vocals), Sultan Rafsan Khan (guitar), Wahid Uz Zaman Turjo (bass), Adnan Bin Zaman (keyboard) and Tawfiq Ahmed Bijoy (drums).
