As the FIFA World Cup unfolds across the United States, Mexico and Canada, football fever has spread around the globe, including Bangladesh. With the tournament's knockout stage set to begin in the coming days, music producer and composer Fuad Almuqtadir has unveiled a new song celebrating the spirit of the beautiful game.

Titled "Kandari Chol", the track presents football as more than just a sport, portraying it as an integral part of everyday life, culture and emotion in Bangladesh.

The song features vocals by Bangladeshi artists Mila, Pantho Kanai, Bammy, Sanjana and rapper Black Zang, alongside Nigerian musician Oli Boy. Drawing inspiration from Brazilian baile funk, the musical arrangement reflects football's global appeal while blending it with local influences.

According to the creators, the central message of "Kandari Chol" is simple: football is life.

In Bangladesh, football extends far beyond the pitch. It lives in neighbourhood alleyways, rooftop gatherings, tea-stall debates and streets draped in the colours of competing nations. The song seeks to capture that shared passion and the excitement that unites generations of fans.

The lyrics were written by Tiger Chowdhury, Mahbub Morshed (Shihab), Oli Boy and Black Zang.

Musically, the track combines elements of Bangladeshi folk traditions, stadium chants, electronic sounds, rap and the everyday bustle of city life. The accompanying music video was directed by Miraj Hossain and produced by Runout Films.

Speaking about the project, Fuad said the song aims to tell a broader story through football — one that encompasses dreams, friendship, competition, joy and emotion.

As the world turns its attention to the knockout rounds of the World Cup, "Kandari Chol" offers a distinctly Bangladeshi celebration of the sport, reinforcing a message that resonates with millions of fans: football is not just a game, it is a way of life.
