After winning hearts with “Rehana Maryam Noor”, Abdullah Mohammad Saad is back in the spotlight with his latest mini-series, “ANNiE”.

The series is set to have its world premiere at the Seriencamp Festival in Cologne. While it was already known that Nazifa Tushi would play the lead role, the rest of the cast had remained under wraps until now.

Produced by Ehsanul Haque Babu, “ANNiE” also stars Yash Rohan, Sarika Sabrin and Farhana Mithu, among others, in key roles.

“ANNiE” is a dystopian story centered on a 27-year-old nurse named Annie, portrayed by Nazifa Tushi. Struggling to raise her five siblings on her own, Annie finds herself living in a world gripped by a mysterious disease that causes infected men to develop an uncontrollable hatred toward women. One terrifying night during this “hate pandemic,” a masked attacker brutally assaults her, leaving her forever changed. As she battles the hatred growing within herself and around her, Annie descends into a darkness where revenge becomes the only thing she can see.

Speaking about the series, Abdullah Mohammad Saad said, “‘ANNiE’ is essentially a chamber drama told through the eyes of a complex character like Annie. Like all of my previous works, I believe this series will question the eternal mistrust, inequality and violence embedded within relationships between men and women.”

“ANNiE” will premiere at the Seriencamp Festival, Germany’s first festival dedicated entirely to television series. Every year, around 20 selected series from different genres and countries are screened on the big screen at the festival, and “ANNiE” will be among this year’s featured titles.
