Aishwarya Rai, Alia Bhatt and Aditi Rao Hydari set for Cannes 2026
Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Aditi Rao Hydari are set to attend the 2026 edition of the Cannes Film Festival, continuing India’s strong presence at one of the world’s most prestigious film events.
The festival, known for celebrating global cinema and fashion, is expected to once again spotlight Indian talent on the international stage. Alongside film-related appearances, the actors are also expected to represent beauty and fashion brands during the event.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a Cannes regular for more than two decades, is set to return to the iconic red carpet once again. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt will attend the festival for the second consecutive year.
Speaking about her return to Cannes, Alia said, “It feels incredibly special to return to Cannes with L’Oréal Paris for the second time. Last year was such an unforgettable experience and I am truly excited to be back for what feels like an even bigger celebration this year.”
She added, “There is a beautiful energy here, one of sisterhood and the celebration of female voices, and it is a privilege to be part of this journey with a brand that so strongly champions women’s worth and empowerment.”
Aditi Rao Hydari is also expected to make a notable appearance at the festival this year. Reflecting on her Cannes journey, the actor said she feels honoured to represent L’Oréal Paris at the global event.
“For me, true beauty lies in embracing who you are unapologetically and owning your individuality with confidence,” Aditi said.
Filmmaker Payal Kapadia has also been named president of the jury for the 65th edition of Cannes Critics’ Week, a parallel section of the festival dedicated to emerging cinematic voices.
Industry observers believe the 2026 edition of Cannes could become another landmark year for Indian representation, with cinema, fashion and women’s empowerment taking centre stage on the global platform.
