‘Daagi’ triumphs as Nisho, Tama take home awards

Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza have won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards in the popular category At the 27th edition of the Meril-Prothom Alo Awards 2025. Both were honoured for their performances in the film “Daagi”.
Tama Mirza received the Best Actress award for her role in “Daagi”. Afran Nisho was named Best Actor for the same film.

“Daagi” is a Bangladeshi crime-drama film released in 2025. It is directed and written by Shihab Shaheen. This is his second film as a director. The film is jointly produced by SVF, Alpha-i and Chorki.
Afran Nisho plays a lead role in the film. This is his second appearance in a theatrical release after “Surongo”. The cast also includes Sunerah Binte Kamal alongside Tama Mirza.
The Meril-Prothom Alo Awards, one of the country’s most prestigious entertainment accolades, once again brought together leading figures from across film, television, and music, celebrating excellence and artistic achievement.
