Keya Payel’s Eid line-up spans nine distinct characters
Among the new generation of television performers, Keya Payel has steadily built a reputation through a diverse body of work. While she remains active in modelling, acting continues to be her primary focus. This Eid-ul-Azha, the actress appears in nine different television dramas, each featuring a distinct character.
Speaking to The Daily Star, Keya reflected on her Eid releases, audience response, family celebrations, and her aspirations as an actor.
“I worked on quite a few productions for Eid,” she said. “Some were filmed shortly before the festival, while others were completed much earlier. Altogether, nine dramas are being aired this season. Viewers will see me in very different roles in each one. No two characters are alike.”
Asked whether she enjoyed portraying such varied roles, Keya responded enthusiastically. “My love for acting and my sense of responsibility towards the craft are what keep me going. I genuinely enjoy acting and always try to be part of meaningful work.”
The nine dramas featuring Keya this Eid are “Buker Bhitor Agun”, “Bekheyali”, “Shukher Golpo”, “Doob”, “Notebook”, “Jotne Thako”, “Aparajita”, “Chhuye De Amay”, and “Pallu Billur Biye”.

Speaking about the projects, she said, “Each production has been made with great care and dedication. I believe some wonderful work has been done this Eid.”
Keya also revealed that she enjoys watching her own performances. “I’ve been following the dramas I appear in, and I’m also watching the work of my fellow actors,” she said.
According to the actress, the response from family, friends, and viewers has so far been encouraging. “Everyone has been saying positive things. Once all the dramas have aired, I’ll have a clearer picture of the overall audience response.”
Away from work, Keya is spending Eid in Dhaka with her family. “I’m enjoying quality time with my family. I’ve watched films with my cousins, and we’ve been spending time together talking and catching up.”
The actress also spoke about the tradition of Eid salami. “I received salami from my parents, but I also had to give quite a lot to the younger members of the family,” she said with a smile. “It’s something I genuinely enjoy.”
Looking ahead, Keya remains focused on artistic growth. “I always want to be part of good projects and continue moving forward as an actor. I’m particularly drawn to challenging roles that push me beyond my comfort zone.”
