Actor Richie Solaiman has said that many television dramas today appear repetitive in storytelling, as she marks her return to the screen with the seven-episode series “Opurnota”.

The first episode of the series was recently released on Minerva Films’ YouTube channel. Speaking about her comeback project, Richie said she was drawn to the script because it felt different from the usual narratives.

“Nowadays, most drama stories feel quite similar. But this one stood out to me, which is why I chose to be part of it,” she said, adding that audiences have become more discerning and expect thoughtful performances.

The series also stars Tariq Anam Khan, Mir Rabbi and Golam Rabbi Dosthogir Shan.

Richie was also seen during Eid in the telefilm “Bhalobashar Onno Naam Tumi”, which received positive feedback from viewers. Written by Iffat Arefin Tanvi and directed by Chayanika Chowdhury, the telefilm explores themes of love, compromise and emotional acceptance in relationships.

The telefilm aired on a satellite channel during Eid and was later released on the Rangan Entertainment YouTube channel on April 13. In the project, Richie plays the wife of a character portrayed by Shahiduzzaman Selim.

Reflecting on the experience, the actor said she has always enjoyed working with Chayanika Chowdhury and appreciated the effort to present familiar themes in a unique way. She added that she continues to find satisfaction in working on stories rooted in real-life emotions.
