Turkish historical series ‘Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi’ to premiere in Bangla
Bangladeshi viewers will soon be able to watch the acclaimed Turkish historical series “Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi” in Bangla. The dubbed version, titled “Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi”, will premiere on August 2 through a joint initiative by Nagorik TV and Bongo.
The announcement was made at a press conference, where organisers revealed that the series will air on Nagorik TV from Sunday to Thursday at 8 pm, followed by streaming on Bongo at 9 pm.
The series chronicles the life of the legendary Muslim military leader Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi, focusing on his efforts to unite the Muslim world and reclaim Jerusalem from the Crusaders. Alongside its portrayal of military campaigns, the drama explores the political struggles, leadership and pursuit of justice that defined the 12th-century ruler’s legacy.
Widely popular in Turkey, the historical epic is known for its large-scale production, cinematic visuals, elaborate battle sequences and period-accurate settings that bring the medieval era to life.
Speaking at the event, Mohammad Ali Haider, Head of Content at Bongo, said the platform is delighted to introduce Salahuddin Ayyubi’s story to Bangla-speaking audiences.
“We are committed to bringing high-quality international content to local viewers in a way that resonates with them. We believe this action-packed series, filled with politics, emotion and history, will captivate audiences across Bangladesh,” he said.
Nagorik TV Chairman Navidul Haque said the collaboration is part of the channel’s ongoing effort to deliver world-class content to viewers.
“This partnership with Bongo will offer audiences a fresh viewing experience while bringing an internationally acclaimed historical drama to Bangladeshi screens,” he said.
The official Bangla trailer and poster of the series were also unveiled during the press conference, attended by senior officials from Nagorik TV and Bongo, along with members of the media.
