30 bands join Chittagong Musical Band Association
In recent years, the band music scene in Chattogram has been thriving, with new bands regularly being formed by the younger generation. Now, these new and upcoming bands have started joining the Chittagong Musical Band Association (CMBA).
On Monday, 30 new and old bands were present at the formal registration programme of CMBA. Alongside the registration, most of Chattogram's band music scene were present.
According to the CMBA, this was the first-time, in almost five years, that new bands had joined the organisation. In recent times, 14 bands from Chattogram had performed their original songs at the Joy Bangla concert in Dhaka. The CMBA has cited this incident as a milestone for band music in Chattogram.
It was due to this concert that they came forward to take the initiative to reform the CMBA. They selected a total of 30 bands from the 60 applicants to start this new journey with them. The CMBA will be playing a major role in improving the quality of band music in Chattogram.
MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) were also signed with various companies including Techno Pro, Sound King, Capture Wing, Milton Decorators, etc. Additionally, it was announced by the owner of Guitar Hall – School of Music that there would be special discounts available for bands registered with the CMBA.
