BTS not going on hiatus, says media 'misrepresented' announcement
K-pop sensation and BTS leader RM Namjoon is furious with the way the media has "misrepresented" their announcement about working on solo projects as disbanding the band forever.
During the band's 9th anniversary last Tuesday, one of the BTS members reportedly uttered the word "hiatus", which was later mistranslated from Korean to English subtitles. Both the members and their talent agency Hybe have disputed the use of the word "hiatus".
BTS Army and fans who were devastated by the news expressed their shock all over social media, which even lead to the share prices of Hybe falling drastically within hours.
RM expressed his disappointment over the whole debacle by issuing his statement on fan platform Weverse.
"It is not like we were hoping they (media persons) would watch our show… till the end to write their opinions. Only the screenshots of me crying became viral… I wonder if I shouldn't have been brave enough to share," mentioned RM.
BTS Agency Hybe also clarified their stance through their own statement, which read: "To be clear, [BTS] are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in different formats."
