Afran Nisho has opened up about the physically demanding and weather-challenged shoot of his upcoming film "Domm" in Kazakhstan, describing how the cast and crew pushed through harsh conditions to complete the schedule on time. The actor returned to Dhaka on December 6—just in time for his birthday on December 8—surprising fans who had assumed he would miss this year's celebrations.

Many had expected he would be unable to attend due to the ongoing shoot. However, Nisho joined the fan-organised event shortly after returning from Kazakhstan, accompanied by "Domm" director Redoan Rony and co-star Puja Chery. Naturally, the challenges of filming the project became a point of discussion. Rony noted that the team had worked under extremely difficult conditions. During one mountain sequence, Nisho injured his hand, but immediate medical attention was unavailable due to the remote location. Despite the injury, he continued performing risky scenes.

Reflecting on the experience, Nisho said, "We all want a strong story and strong performances. A story like 'Domm' feels like a blessing, and it comes with responsibility. If I cannot carry that properly, then what is the point? As a senior, I know the team's pace depends on me. So whether it's a cut on my hand or leg, or whether medical support arrives on time, these things don't matter. We had a very tight schedule—losing even 10 minutes meant falling behind. I can confidently say no production has seen the amount of hard work this team put in."

Despite the obstacles, the team completed the Kazakhstan shoot on time. "With age and experience, responsibility increases," Nisho said. "I didn't think of myself only as an actor—I considered myself part of the filmmaking process. The weather was challenging; by 2pm, there was no sunlight. We never expected that. Even with these complexities, we didn't overshoot a single day. We kept our word to everyone involved."

Nisho declined to reveal details about the film's story but noted that such a plot has not been explored before in Bangladeshi cinema. He hopes audiences will appreciate the narrative and feel proud after watching it.

With the international schedule completed, "Domm" will now continue shooting in Bangladesh after a short break. Alongside Nisho and Puja Chery, the film also stars Chanchal Chowdhury. "Domm" is expected to release in theatres during Eid-ul-Fitr next year.
