Afran Nisho starrer ‘Domm’ unveils first look

The first look of the much-anticipated Eid-ul-Fitr film “Domm” has been unveiled, hinting at a tense narrative filled with mystery and survival.

The 54-second glimpse was released on social media at 1:00pm on March 8, revealing the looks of Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury and Puja Chery. Set against a scenic, mountainous landscape at sunrise, the visuals quickly shift from calm to tension, suggesting an unfolding danger. The background score, along with fleeting moments from the film, has sparked curiosity and discussion among viewers online.

Throughout the teaser, Afran Nisho appears exhausted, frail and anxious, while Puja Chery’s expressions reflect uncertainty and fear. Chanchal Chowdhury is also seen reacting with shock and alarm. Together, the scenes raise questions about who is fleeing, who is chasing, and who will ultimately survive.

The teaser features only one line of dialogue, delivered by Afran Nisho at the end: “Ami Shahjahan Islam Noor, Bangladeshi Muslim, mone raikh.” The brief line has further heightened anticipation surrounding the film.

Director Redoan Rony said the film now belongs to the audience and expressed hope that it will meet viewers’ expectations. He added that the teaser offers only a glimpse of the story and that the film was shot in extremely remote locations rarely seen in Bangladeshi cinema.

In “Domm”, Afran Nisho portrays the character Shahjahan Islam Noor. He described the film as a survival story with strong emotional elements, noting that such a project requires courage and teamwork to bring to life.

Puja Chery plays a character named Rani, whom she described as strong-willed and layered. According to the actress, the teaser only hints at the character’s presence, and her full impact on Noor’s story will unfold in the film.

“Domm” is produced by SVF Alpha-i and Chorki. Shahriar Shakil, managing director of SVF Alpha-i Entertainment, said the film is based on true events and has been in development for nearly two and a half years. He noted that the production aimed to push the boundaries of Bangla cinema and offer visuals that feel new to local audiences.

With the tagline “Until the Last Breath”, “Domm” is set to release during Eid-ul-Fitr. The screenplay was written by Redoan Rony along with Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhar, Md Saifullah Riyad and Rabiul Alam Robi.
