Redoan Rony’s film “Domm”, released this Eid, features Afran Nisho in the role of Shahjahan Islam Noor. On Monday (March 23) evening, the cast and crew appeared on Prothom Alo’s special programme “Tarar Eid”, streamed live on its Facebook and YouTube platforms. Nisho, along with director Rony, actress Puja Chery, and producer Shahriar Shakil, spoke about the film in an informal discussion.

Responding to a question, Nisho reflected on the challenging shooting conditions in Kazakhstan. “I’ve worked on many projects, but I’ve never had an experience like this. I had never encountered such extreme cold before. The temperature might have been minus 8, but it felt like minus 15. It looked like sunny weather, but the cold was beyond words,” he shared with Prothom Alo.

Producer Shahriar Shakil shared that at one point, he advised halting the shoot due to Nisho’s illness. However, the actor insisted on continuing. Shakil noted that Nisho’s deep creative involvement contributes to the film’s success.

Puja Chery, who plays Rani in the film, said, “Those who have seen it are calling this my best work. ‘Domm’ is more than just a film for me—it’s an emotion and a new chapter.”

Director Redoan Rony spoke about the demanding shoot, citing difficult locations and limited access to basic resources. “There were times when we struggled to get water and food. We would start early in harsh conditions, yet the team remained committed,” he said.

“Domm”, Rony’s third film, is inspired by a true story and is produced by SVF Alpha-i Entertainment Limited and Chorki. The film also stars Chanchal Chowdhury and Dolly Zahur. The screenplay has been written by Redoan Rony, Rabiyul Alam, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhor, and Md Saifullah.
