Ekta Kapoor accused of hurting Hindu sentiments in 'Gandii Baat'
Ekta Kapoor is in hot water yet again. Alt Balaji's poster for "Gandii Baat" season 6 has become the target of controversy. People are demanding that the series be banned for good.
The adult comedy web-series poster showcases a woman donning an Indian saree with a veil on top of her face. She is posing next to a lotus flower and there are two peacocks on both the sides.
Many have deemed the poster as an indirect comparison to Goddess Lakshmi, who also sits on a lotus. People have heavily criticised Ekta Kapoor and Alt Balaji for the 'disrespectful' poster.
"These are the woke people; they never miss an opportunity to defame only one religion in order to make the Bollywoodia gang happy," one commenter stated.
"ALT Balaji belongs to Ektaa Kapoor, Balaji is present in the name itself, but the work is completely opposite, soft porn is served in it, if you are not satisfied with that, then create a thumbnail similar to Goddess Lakshmi, but a dirty woman was made to sit on the lotus. Do I find it objectionable only because I find it objectionable, or do all of you find it objectionable?" a user asked.
Directed by Sachin Mohite, "Gandii Baat'" showcases episodes which has a flavour of rural Indian narrative with an erotic theme.
