Renowned actor Tushar Khan was admitted to the capital's Greenlife Hospital yesterday, as his health deteriorated.

Equally popular on television, stage, and films, the actor is diagnosed with pulmonary edema, a condition caused by excess fluid in the lungs.

The news was confirmed to The Daily Star by Ahsan Habib Nasim, General Secretary of Actors' Equity Bangladesh. "Let's pray for his fast recovery," he said.

Since 1982, Tushar Khan has been associated with Aranyak, one of the biggest theatre groups in Bangladesh. He also shared the screen with beloved actor Salman Shah in "Bikkhov", along with many other movies.

He became a household name after his appearance in the tele-fiction "Itikotha". Tushar Khan was last seen in the film "August 1975".
