DoE disconnects power of 6 businesses in Dhaka over pollution

Department of Environment (DoE) today disconnected power connections of four dying factories and two printing presses over the violation of the environment act in the capital.
The daylong drive was conducted in Shyampur, Jurain and Alambagh areas of Dhaka, Muktadir Hasan, assistant director of DoE (Dhaka Metro), told The Daily Star.
Muktadir Hasan said power connection of four dying factories was cut for polluting Buriganga River by releasing effluents.
Besides, power connections of two printing press were snapped for causing sound pollution, he added.
